Meet at the gazebo at Neuseway Park for coffee and donuts; Paint on location around the riverfront and downtown Kinston
Friday, May 4th, 2012 5:00pm Meet at the Art Gallery at Mother Earth Brewery to drop off work
Saturday, May 5th, 2012 10:00am-4:00pm Art work on display at the Art Gallery at Mother Earth Brewery
1st Place: $250 & will be featured as 2013’s BBQ Festival on the Neuse limited edition poster
2nd Place: $150
3rd Place: $75

Up to three (3) pieces of work created during the Paint Out may be entered for the juried competition. There is no limit to the number of pieces that can be exhibited and for sale. All work will be exhibited and for sale on Friday evening, May 4th and 10:00am-4:00pm, Saturday, May 5th at the Art Gallery at Mother Earth Brewery on North Street in Kinston. The art will then be moved to the Arts Center, 400 N. Queen Street, Kinston to be on exhibit and sale through August 4, 2012. The Arts Council has a series of annually recurring events. This is a list of these events so you can update your calendar and check back at the appropriate time for updated information.
Motorcycle Show
This exhibit takes place in early January every year.
ArtFest Call for Vendors
(January - March) ArtsFest is part of the BBQ Festival on the Neuse which is held the first weekend in May every year.
Holiday Shopping Extravaganza Call for Vendors
(July) The Holiday Shopping Extravaganza is held mid-November. The call for vendors typically goes out in mid-summer.
Artist in Residence
Yusan Ishimaru
Our NEW Artist in Residence in Ceramics
Yusan Ishimaru grew up in Hiroshima, Japan and came to the United States eight years ago to study ceramics. He received his undergraduate degree from LaGrange College in LaGrange, Georgia and went on to get his Master of Fine Art in Ceramics from East Carolina University in 2011. Yusan is now the Artist in Residence in the basement Ceramics studio at the Arts Center & his work is for sale in the Gift Shop. He is also is a contributing artist to our Annual Soup & a Bowl event this year. Be sure to visit him next time you stop by!
The Arts Center has re-introduced our Artist in Residence program and Yusan Ishimaru is the first! His residency started in December of 2011.
