The Overland Gallery is announcing new artist gallery sales and studio space available for rent.
Details:
Option #1- Studio Space
5 studio spaces are available for rent (A - E)
Space ranges from 130 sq foot to 200 sq foot
Each rental space is unique and size varies. Price for renting space: $1.25/sq foot per month, plus 15% commission on sales
Current state sales tax will also be added to all salesPrice includes utilities, heat/air, track lighting, Wi-Fi
Personal studio space includes work and art sales space
All artists will provide any easels, shelving and other display and hanging systems appropriate to their artwork. All space fixtures provided by the artist will be approved by the Gallery Manager prior to installation.Proceeds for all works sold during the month are paid to the artist on the 15th of the month following the sale.
The Overland Gallery will require a signed lease for a 3 month time period. A written notice will be required if you desire to terminate the lease. The Overland Gallery also reserves the right to terminate any contract with a 30 day written notice.
Option #2 - Gallery Sales Space
General Gallery Sales Space - 35% commission on all sales
(or $30/month rent plus 15% commission on all sales)Quantity and display at the discretion of the curator.
Artwork will be juried with quantity restricted. Proceeds for all works sold during the month are paid to the artist on the 20th of the month following the sale.The Gallery will display and label the art works. Gallery sales will be handled at the Gallery Desk by the appointed gallery attendant.
The Artist is expected to introduce new art works every 6 - 8 weeks, or as requested by the Gallery.
Your sales space will be open to the public (subject to adjustment): Tuesday - Saturday 10:00 am - 6:00 pm

Motorcycle Show
This exhibit takes place in early January every year.
Annual Competitive Exhibition Call for Entries
(January) This annual competitive exhibition puts out the call for entries in December, with deadlines in early February. The exhibit runs from March to mid-April annually.

Plein Air Paint-Out
(February) This juried plein air painting competition is held during the BBQ Festival on the Neuse each year. Registration typically opens in late January/early February. The event is held the first weekend in May.
Arts & Crafts Call for Vendors
(January - March) ArtsFest is part of the BBQ Festival on the Neuse which is held the first weekend in May every year.
Holiday Shopping Extravaganza Call for Vendors
(July) The Holiday Shopping Extravaganza is held mid-November. The call for vendors typically goes out in mid-summer.
Artist in Residence
Yusan Ishimaru
Our NEW Artist in Residence in Ceramics
Yusan Ishimaru grew up in Hiroshima, Japan and came to the United States eight years ago to study ceramics. He received his undergraduate degree from LaGrange College in LaGrange, Georgia and went on to get his Master of Fine Art in Ceramics from East Carolina University in 2011. Yusan is now the Artist in Residence in the basement Ceramics studio at the Arts Center & his work is for sale in the Gift Shop. He is also is a contributing artist to our Annual Soup & a Bowl event this year. Be sure to visit him next time you stop by!
The Arts Center has re-introduced our Artist in Residence program and Yusan Ishimaru is the first! His residency started in December of 2011.
