Biography
Connie Winters is perhaps best known for her vibrant impressionist-style paintings.

"I see so much color and I’m drawn to it. I think I see more than most people; while some would look at a road and see gray asphalt I will see shades of lavender, blue and even red. It’s just the way it appears to me."

Connie has a gift for color and translating her vision to canvas. She skillfully uses light and shadows to accentuate the lush scenes she creates. Whether painting intimate interiors or sunny landscapes, Connie paints with rich, brilliant hues as a way of expressing the happiness she gleans from her subjects. Although she has painted most of her life, she only became a full-time artist about 20 years ago, after selling her antique store and mail-order business. Where once she was selling her paintings through a couple of galleries, today, she is represented by seven well-known Southeast galleries. Connie travels frequently and also runs a popular Painting in Provence program, which allows students to travel to France to study painting each year. Her paintings often reflect her travels through Europe and reveal her ongoing fascination with the countryside of Provence, France and Tuscany, Italy.
