Mark you calendar for Summer Camps at the Arts Center. We look forward to your participation! Here is some general information about our camps.

  • All instructors are professional artists and/or educators.
  • Campers should dress comfortably in play clothes.
  • Registration fee is non-refundable and is applied to full camp cost due by the first day of each camp session. Camp cost includes a snack and supplies.
  • Summer camp t-shirts are available for $12 each (tax included).
  • Register Early! All camps have registration limits and fill up quickly.
  • PayPal payments will be available following the links provided. We also will accept  cash, check, Visa, and MasterCard payments.
  • If you are a teenager (16-years-old or older) and would like to volunteer, contact us for an application -- 252-527-2517 -- or download the application form (read below section, Volunteer Program).

Science Camp — Instructor: Josey Thompson
Session 1: June 26-June 29, 2017, 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Ages 5 to 8 years
Session 2: July 10-July 13, 2017, 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Ages 9 to 11 years
Cost per Session: $65 Members/ $75 Non-Members
Pre-Registration Fee: $25 non-refundable registration applied to total fee to reserve space
  • Theme: Under the Sea — Sessions focus on marine animals, plants and their ecosystems. Art projects will include painting, paper mâché, and origami.

Arts & Craft Camp
Session 1: July 18-July 20, 2017, 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.,
3 & 4 years; Cost : $45 Members/ $55 Non-Members

Session 2: July 24-July 27, 2017, 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.,

Theatre Arts Camp — Instructor: Taylor Chew
Session: July 31-August 4, 2017
9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Ages: Rising 1st Graders through Rising 12th Graders
Cost per Session: $125
Pre-Registration Fee: $50 non-refundable registration applied to total fee to reserve space
  • Love to sing? Dance? Act? Join us for a week of theatre fun as we audition, rehearse, and perform selections from a popular current Broadway musical. Students will learn songs and dance from the show and will have an opportunity to work on and display their acting chops! The week will end with a showcase open to the public. No experience is necessary. Don’t miss out on your chance to be on stage! Enrollment is open to rising 1st Graders through rising 12th graders. Camp limited to 30 campers.

Volunteer Program
The Community Council for the Arts is a non-profit, 501-(c)3 organization. We are happy to encourage responsible and dedicated youth, ages 15 and older, to assist with our summer camps.

During Summer Camp, volunteers assist Staff with a variety of duties including the daily set up and clean up of camps. For those volunteers seeking service hours for school or civic organizations, participants will receive an official letter validating service hours contributed.

To participate, students must complete an application and meet with Director Sandy Landis prior to the their week of service. Participation in this program is free. Scheduling preference is on a first-come, first-serve basis. As a benefit of membership, scheduling priority will be offered to members of Community Council for the Arts.

Additional Information
  • A completed registration form must be provided with payment. Pre-registration payments may be accepted over the phone as long as a registration form is submitted in person, by mail, or by email within 24 hours of payment.
  • The name of every person allowed to pick up your child must be given to Staff upon check-in. Photo identification may be required to pick up a child.
  • Every effort will be made to accommodate children with food allergies. Parents must notify staff of food allergies upon check-in. Parents of children with severe allergies are strongly encouraged to provide their own snacks.
  • We may use images from Summer Camp in our marketing and promotional material.
